How to Order:
Excited about getting a custom animal portrait? Well I’m excited to create it. There are just a few simple steps that need to be taken before I begin to create your portrait.
- Photos: I work entirely from photos, so first I need some good quality photos of your pet. You can send me them via e-mail or regular mail. Feel free to let me know which photo is your favorite as the pose of the pet plays a large role in the look of the painting. I will use the other photos for reference
- Content: As you can tell from the portraits on the site, I can paint a traditional portrait of your pet or something a little more whimsical and creative. Let me know some of your pets personality traits: favorite foods, toys, likes, dislikes.. etc. If you have a specific idea for a painting I can paint pretty much whatever you’d like. Or you can let me come up with some ideas for the portrait and you can approve or tweak them.
- Size: Decide what size portrait you want. Just let me know the specific dimensions you want and I'll give you a quote.
Once we've discussed and agreed on some basic ideas for the painting I'll require a 50% deposit (see below) and then I will send you some rough sketches for your approval. If you like them then I will start painting!
I will periodically send you the latest photos of your "work in progress" portrait so if there are any changes you want to make it won't be too late to suggest them. When I have completed the portrait I will email you a digital copy for your final approval and then require the remaining balance.
- Pricing: The prices below are for single animal portraits with a basic background. Multiple animals in a single painting or significant detailed items incorporated (intricate backgrounds, other animals, etc.) in the paintings will have additional charges; please contact me for a quote (most backgrounds start around $75.00, and additional animals start at $100). I require a 50% non-refundable deposit before beginning the painting and usually need about 6 to 8 weeks to complete it. Payment can be made either by personal check or cash.
